Practice Areas

Federal Practice & e-Discovery

In addition to our substantive practices, we have created two unique federal practice areas that allow us to partner with other law firms, technology firms, and our clients to provide a cost-effective approach to federal litigation.

First, we developed a practice group to assist state court practitioners whose cases have been removed to federal court.  Depending on the needs of each case, we may become so involved in the litigation that we manage the case or we may take on more discrete tasks such as preparing memoranda of law or coordinating e-discovery.  Regardless of the level of our involvement, we remain respectful of existing attorney-client relationships while working to serve the best interests of the client.

Second, one of our goals in representing corporate clients is to help them learn how they can more efficiently respond to discovery, especially electronic discovery, while protecting their confidential documents and minimizing business disruption.  To this end, we partner with technology firms, our clients, and their outside counsel to develop proactive approaches to discovery.  We also travel throughout the United States to train our clients’ litigation counsel about our clients’ systems, how to identify and locate the information needed for each particular case, and how to protect our clients’ proprietary information.  We assist in-house counsel in maintaining and communicating, on a case-by-case basis, our clients’ corporate history.

"The hiring of a lawyer is an important decision that should not be based solely upon advertisement. Before you decide,
ask the attorney to send you free, written information about qualifications and experience."
